The way to lower your premium on marketplace plans is to estimate your income for the coming year. The lower your income estimate, the lower your premium. Here’s the problem, especially as a business owner: if you make more than you predicted, when you file taxes, you’ll be required to pay back the tax credit that subsidized your lower premiums. The IRS is the collection agency for Obamacare or marketplace plans. They will collect the premium tax credit; it will be part of your tax bill. We can help you avoid this situation.
The direct answer is no. Generally no, unless they were medically necessary due to some type of accident or diabetic situation with vision. The reality is we have great dental and vision benefits that are, what we call, stand alone. And when I say great, I mean very low cost, very high value plans.

When you get to Medicare, you become individuals basically with your health benefits. And that’s unusual because all the way up to Medicare, we’ve usually had family policies or couple policies.
So don’t worry when you get Medicare, we can still take care of your spouse prior to them receiving Medicare.

To answer the question very simply, the answer is no. These do not work like Obamacare. Now, as far as coverage, benefits, broad networks and immediate benefits for care… These solutions are unparalleled.

Our health insurance plans are subject to state boundaries. This is one of the things the Trump administration talked about trying to do away with in order to create better pricing by spreading out the demand / risk. But here’s the key… We don’t just serve Tennessee. So if you’re saying, “Hey, I’m in another state how can I tell if you cover my state. Here’s another part of that question. If we get coverage for you here in Tennessee, that coverage is good nationwide. So if you’re traveling, if you’re on vacation, no worries, you are covered nationwide.
The answer is yes, not only in network but most of these plans have arrangements where you can actually go out of network if you need to. Cost goes up a little bit… But freedom is there. So tremendous network to begin with, where you’re getting substantial discounts, in-network, and then flexibility. If you need to be out of network, you absolutely have coverage.
Medications are covered. Now here’s how… the best, easiest, most beneficial way is immediate, contracted discounts at the counter when you’re picking up your medication. I mean substantial discounts… immediate. That is the first step. The second step then, on most of our plans, is a medication rebate or reimbursement that comes for generics and brand.

Employer benefits is a very large space, very large topic. What we can do is actually look at your employer benefits and see if we can help you.
I’ll give you an example. I’ve got young man who was offered benefits from his employer. Reality is the deductible was so high, and his portion of the premium, even at 50%, was much higher than a zero deductible plan we were able to provide him. So we were literally able to be less expensive on the premium than him paying 50% of his employer plan, and we eliminated the deductible versus a very high deductible on his employer plan. So we do have employer benefits.
